Nicaragua – Olman Valladarez
This coffee is produced in the heart of the Dipilto mountains, near the border with Honduras. It is cultivated on sandy soil at an altitude of between 1200 and 1700 metres. Prepared as espresso, you can enjoy subtle notes of apricot, milk chocolate and raw cane sugar. This results in a smooth cup with little acidity.

Luis Emilio Valladarez has worked in the coffee industry for 60 years. He started by buying a small farm called Buenos Aires, followed by two other farms. At the time he sold all his production as cherries. A few years ago, he decided to build his own mill in order to more effectively control coffee production and export.
Today he works with his son Olman at two plantations: Buenos Aires Estate and La Laguna. This family set-up began in 2004, when Olman started to help his father and brother manage the family’s farms. Since 2005, they have been working hard to make a name for themselves in the world of specialty coffee. They have even participated on several occasions in Nicaragua’s Cup of Excellence competition. And in 2014 they came second with their El Naranjo Dipilto (Maracaturra) lot!
