Where is Boreal coffee roasted?

Our coffee is freshly roasted in our roastery in Geneva every week by hand and with love by our roasting team led by our head roaster Gabriel.

How do you source your Coffee?

Boreal sources all its coffee directly from co-ops across the world’s premier coffee-growing countries. We do this via Roaster United which we co-founded in 2012. Roaster United has grown from 3 member roasters to 18 today who share our values of impactful and sustainable partnering with coffee-growing communities.

Is your coffee Fairtrade?

Most of our coffee-growing partners are also certified Fairtrade. We do our additional assessments of the working conditions via our regular visits to all our partner co-ops.

How should I store my coffee?

Ideally, coffee should be stored in an airtight container, kept at room temperature and out of direct sunlight if possible. Our retail bags are re-sealable and will keep your coffee fresh. If you are after a stylish display container check out our selection here.

Will my coffee go off?

When stored correctly and most importantly kept dry, coffee doesn’t go off. That being said, coffee needs about 10 days after roasting to degas and settle and then will remain at its best for about three months, after which it will slowly give up some of its flavours. Our coffee is freshly roasted every week and our online shop and in-store coffee beans are always fresh.
